Our favourite Rieslings

J Lohr Bay Mist Riesling, 2022

Unoaked and just slightly sweet. My goes-with-anything food-friendly white wine is a perfect pairing to fusion cuisines or any dish with a lick of spicy heat. Exotic aromas of honeysuckle, ripe pear, Meyer lemon, and lychee. Flavors of ripe apple and pear, with just a touch of residual sweetness, classic minerality, and a light, refreshing spritz of natural carbonation on the finish.

Fritz Haag Riesling, 2023

Fuder 10 is a small parcel selection, made smaller by the early season effects of peronospera, coming from a plot of vines close to the river that perennially achieves great ripeness. Recognisably Auslese in approach, though with less than 5% botrytis in the blend, this has fantastic purity, ample weight, a touch of cream and calm waves of succulent peach and red apple notes. A wine of richness and elegance. sweetness, creamy ripe yellow peaches alongside notes of melon, mango and scented red apples. Sheer silk across the palate, an Auslese of great finesse.

Food Pairing: Our favourite pairing for crisp sauvignon blanc is a heaping plate of shellfish! Oysters, clams, lobster, crab, prawns and scallops all make for a wonderful pairing for this wine.

Weingut Spreitzer Wisselbrunnen Riesling, 2020

The Wisselbrunnen, one of the most famous vineyards in Germany, with its southwest-facing location and its water-retaining marl soil, allows the grapes to ripen to a high degree.

The nose reveals subtle herbal and citrus notes, while on the palate the Wisselbrunnen impresses with enormous concentration, complexity and minerality. There is an exciting interplay of fruit and saltiness. This unfolds particularly well in combination with dark sauces and strong dishes, but can also be enjoyed excellently on its own.

Weingut Spreitzer Josef Spreitzer Riesling, 2020

The Josef Spreitzer Riesling from the wine-growing region of the Rheingau reveals itself in the glass in brilliantly shimmering light yellow. The aroma of this white wine from the Rheingau is determined by notes of all kinds of red and black berries and dark fruits such as black cherries and plums. This dry white wine from Spreitzer is for wine drinkers who prefer to drink bone dry. With its lively fruit acidity, Josef Spreitzer Riesling reveals itself to be fantastically fresh and lively on the palate. The finale of this white wine from the wine-growing region the Rheingau finally thrilled with beautiful reverberation.

Pouring a glass of Mountadam Eden Valley Riesling is an invitation to embark on a sensory journey. The wine boasts a captivating nose, alive with lifted floral notes. Imagine a gentle breeze wafting through a springtime garden, carrying scents of jasmine and honeysuckle. Hints of citrus zest, particularly lime and grapefruit, add a touch of vibrancy to the bouquet. Underlying these primary aromas lies a captivating minerality, a suggestion of crushed stones and wet slate, hinting at the wine’s complex character.
