Vinarstvi Cech, Moravia, Czech Republic
A low-intervention winery covering 25 hectares of vineyards in Tvrdonice village in the Moravske Slovacko wine region. Tvrdonice is situated at the southernmost point of South Moravia, and is well known for its busy cultural life, traditional folklore and dance.
Family-run Cech uses certified biodynamical procedures, working with rich varieties of herbs to naturally regulate pests and fertilise vines. Their grapes are processed with modern technologies and used as a base for high-quality organic and vegan-friendly wines. Established in 1996, the winery was initially run by passionate winemaker Jan Cech. Following Jan’s death, his son Petr took over the family business, changing its name to Vinarstvi Cech (Winery Cech).
Cech’s wines have enjoyed great international success, winning prizes at the IWSC and Decanter World Wine Awards in London, Vinalies International Paris in France, AWC Vienna in Austria, the International Wine Competition in San Francisco and Finger Lakes in the USA, alongside many local and Eastern European competitions.
