Seis de Luberri
Winemaker Florentino Monje’s goal with Seis is to create a wine from Tempranillo that expresses the truth and gastronomy of his native Basque region, a wine that makes people happy. Aged 6 months in American oak barrels (hence the name), Seis is a simple wine that is not simple at all. Florentino became famous for resurrecting and perfecting the traditional style of semi-carbonic, whole-cluster maceration of Tempranillo that is historic to Rioja Alavesa.
In the glass are lots of red and black fruit aromas, smoky nuances and slight hints of the maceration process. In the mouth, it is powerful and luscious. A very good balance between fruit and fine toasty flavors.
