Menut
Mas Martinet
Owner and winemaker Sara Perez makes some of Priorat’s best wines at Mas Martinet, all of which are well worth seeking out, and Menut is the place to start. Menut is made with a combination of estate-grown fruit and grapes sourced from adjacent vineyards to the Mas Martinet proprietary, plots with an ultra-minerally schist soil. This is a blend of various varieties with Grenache at the forefront.
The intense aromatics beckon scents of black pepper, wild spices, plum and lavender, with a backdrop of blueberry and cinnamon. In the mouth, lush front flavors of blueberry and mountain fruit lie adrift on a bed of silky tannin. This wine has incredible concentration for its price point, along with a lively acid structure and seamless minerality. The wine is deliciously juicy and drinkable, beautifully balanced and elegant.
